Common questions

Why does Math on Cue ask for the microphone?

So your child can say answers out loud. The microphone is used only while a question is waiting for an answer, and your device asks your permission first.

You can turn microphone access off at any time in your device’s settings. Typing always works instead, and a session can switch to typing at any point.

Is my child’s voice recorded?

No. Speech is turned into words on your child’s phone, tablet or browser. Math on Cue receives only the words recognized for the answer (for example “fifty-six”), turns them into a number, and keeps the number and whether it was right. We never receive or store recordings, and we don’t keep the recognized words.

On devices that can’t recognize speech on the device, your child types instead. See the Children’s Privacy Notice.

The app didn’t hear my child. What can we do?

When it can’t make out an answer, the app says so and asks again; it doesn’t count that as a wrong answer. A quieter room and a clear, single number help. Speech recognition is less reliable with young children’s voices, so if it keeps missing, switch to typing.

How does the free week work?

After you give consent for your children, your family gets one free 7-day evaluation with up to 4 child profiles. No card is needed, and it doesn’t turn into a paid plan by itself. When it ends, practice pauses until you choose a plan.

How do I cancel?

  • Bought on the website: Parent space → Manage plan opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can cancel online. You can also email us.
  • App Store: iPhone or iPad Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Math on Cue.
  • Google Play: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Math on Cue.

Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then doesn’t renew. Deleting your family account cancels a website plan immediately, but not an app-store plan.

Can I get a refund?

For website purchases, ask within 14 days of a charge and we’ll refund that charge in full. A full refund ends access right away.

We can’t issue refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases. Apple and Google decide those under their own policies: Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google through Google Play’s refund request.

How do I delete our data?

In the parent space, open Privacy & child data. You can delete one child’s profile and history, or delete the whole family account. You can also download a copy first. Step-by-step instructions.

How do I sign in? There’s no password.

That’s right: there are no passwords. Enter your email and we send a 6-digit code that works for 10 minutes. Codes are sent only to the parent’s email.
